When the Gorillas Take Command
Don't burn me and plant me in an urn.
Don't wrap me in bandages and seal me in a coffin.
Dress me in white lace and make me a sarcophagus water bed.
Heat it with some atomic power--forever.
Line it with red satin sheets and a down pillow.
I want an alpaca blanket and overhead light.
Plant no flowers, but burn sandalwood incense daily.
Put Papa's books beside me.
Wrap me with Neruda,
Christopher Marlowe,
Milton,
and Chaucer.
Don't forget my glasses plus a spare.
Let me read my way into eternity...
