Read Yeats? Somehow The Words Got Twisted in my Mind...for Today's World...

When You are Old

WHEN you are old and gray and full of sleep

And nodding by the fire,

Sleeping homeless man set ablaze by
three white men with shaved heads on a California beach

take down this book, And slowly read,

and dream of the soft look

Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep;
Nashville police found a woman who was forced into prostitution and not allowed to eat for two days on Friday night, leading to a sex trafficking charge against a Nashville woman. Vice detectives arrested Fenshan Quan, 55, on a charge of felony sex trafficking.

How many loved your moments of glad grace,

And loved your beauty with love false or true;

But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,

And loved the sorrows of your changing face.

Street Prostitutes

And bending down beside the glowing bars,

Murmur, a little sadly, how love fled

And paced upon the mountains overhead,

And hid his face amid a crowd of stars.

I was trying to find a picture of an old man in front of a fireplace, when the first picture above came up... old man + fire = a headline of a man being burned alive...
It seems I could not go on to celebrate the words of Yeats this time...
Instead it became the reality we all know is happening all over the world...
Many do not live long enough to become old...
May God forgive us...

Sorry, Yeats Fans - will do better another day...
