What's Happening at Book Readers Heaven - August, 2016

What a month here at Book Reader's Heaven...My eyes have been overworked, redoing one review I lost completely through some computer glitch...

Then recently I had a different type of issue with one I submitted to Amazon...had it rejected 3 times and then heard nothing more...Sooo, today, after I finish this, I'll be pulling together the "what happened" for Amazon scrutiny...yes, of my actions--not the other way around! That is, shouldn't Amazon know exactly what they had received, rejected via email, rejected via email again, rejected via email again...? I'm the one that reported the problem...to be solved...right?

Of course this is not the first time I've had to prove something to "the officials." Remember my fine for not paying a toll booth for PA Turnpike...Well, I was totally absolved...due to my...documentation...LOL Which was the blog article I posted...

I could go on and on...so, my question is: Why does the consumer have to prove to an organization that he/she is right? What happened to the customer is always right? Or, really, just good customer service that says, "I'll check that for you; if I need additional information, I'll get back to you to clear this right up, Ma'am."! Doesn't happened in today's world?!

So, I've spent time with three very important nonfiction books by D T Pollard...do check them out! But after that, I picked up something fun to read! So look for my review of Murder on Pointe, Debut of a new Fiona Quinn Mystery, by C. S. McDonald... coming soon...

Re requests...nearly everybody is offering ebooks these days...Can't blame them...but I don't really like it... Bought a supposed new and better Kindle...So far, it's not as good as the one I've been using which is Kindle White. And by the way, recognize that I've paid for 4 ebook readers now without any reimbursement...Ebooks might be free for writers to submit, but they cost the reviewer to accommodate those requests...

Because there is no cost for an ebook submission, I'm now getting ebook files without a request... There is NO guarantee unsolicited ebooks will be reviewed.

Again, printed books are given priority, but I've been trying to rotate now with so many ebooks...The mechanics of keeping track of ebooks is a NIGHTMARE my friends... Soooo, again I'm asking that anybody who has submitted an ebook who had not received notice of my review, please contact me and I will move that to the next book read...

Frankly, with the number of ebooks coming in, whether agreed upon by me or unsolicited, it's practically impossible to keep track; i.e., they all go into one library...there is no real way to keep track of approved versus unapproved to be reviewed...
unless I go back and check each and every book in my mail files...Even then, unless I built some gigantic filing system for pending versus completed versus unsolicited...well I hope you get the point... I NEED your help in reminding me about your requests, please...it does help as I was able this month to immediately read one and review it based upon a simple contact by the author!

Of course, I'm also dealing with a backlog of hundreds of emails, but at least I'm able to review new mail every day...

'Nuf of the business stuff... let's get to some stats! We went over 26 thousand hits last month (26,081) from 15 countries, and new connections in Slovakia, Saudia Arabia, and Mauritius.
Thanks so much for visiting Book Readers Heaven!

I always wonder how those from other countries finds their way here...Is it by accident or did they hear about some particular book? I hope it is the latter because I've really been reading some great books and hope you've found my recommendations useful...

Here are the books with the highest hits:

Trying to interpret, I immediately noted that all these books had been posted at the beginning of the month. To me, that means that it is purely the date of posting that determines this final list, since many posted later will continue to be read through into this new month... This, however, is the only way to present the month... I did post a couple times on the week...let me know if that is of any value to you...otherwise I probably won't do that again, since I had to placed it at the bottom of my reviews, which I really didn't want to do...

Until next time...Take Care and God Bless!
Glenda
