Thanks for Special Birthday Greetings From Alllllll Over!

Happy, Happy Birthday Glenda!

I hope your Iris blades are cutting the clouds down to size,

and the roses are getting ready to raise their blooms to the skies,
I will send word to the daylily leaves,
to wait untill roses and iris are done
to color your world with life giving sun.
May your grass never grow more that one green inch high
and every darn weed will just turn up and die
and may you enjoy every day in life giving sunshine
and lots of good wishes be added to mine.
May your heart sing this whole day long,
now show that you'r happy with your voice raised in song.

~~~
Now go and sit down and lets have a piece of that Birthday cake,
and a cup of whatever your taste calls for today.
I had to send a thank you again
for making my day special.
Love
Mary
Yesterday was my birthday and I got so many great thoughts from my online friends, but Mary, whose birthday is one day before mine, chose to write this lovely poem--she's been hearing my complaints about being snowed in...So she wished me Spring! I love it!
The Connection, A Lovely Poem, And More, is Shared from Author Rajyeshwari Ghosh
The Connection
The fragrance of the newly blossomed flowers,
the chirping of the birds,
and the texture of the earth -
all remind me there is life.
There is a life to live and experience!
The blue sky is so magnificent,
and the ocean is so infinite
I feel like a tiny creature in this entire Universe!
How amazing this life is which unfolds itself
to something it is destined to be!
Just like a flower - it blooms, it graces the surrounding,
and spreads aroma - it is a joy to behold.
The sublime sensation that arose from the tone
of the sweet voice echoing from the distance
is a pure connection to the world within!
--From the Essence of My Existence
From the Back Cover -
Is the essence of my existence real or it is a pale illusion? Who am I destined to be?
Synopsis
These are some of the questions that led Rajyeshwari Ghosh to explore the world “outside” and “within” her. On her own from the age of 18, she came from India to the USA as an Undergraduate International Student. The poet poignantly delivers an insight into her world as a non-resident alien in the United States; we view her growth through her pain, anguish, joy and laughter. Her quest to seek the "Ultimate Truth" led her to confront courageously some of the severe trials and tribulations of life. In this deeply reflective, heartwarming volume of poems, the poet explores the very fabric of her existence –whether it’s a pale illusion or authentic. She transcends her sufferings, as she harmonizes her life with the guidance from the Universe, and ultimately rejoices to find her bliss in her own existence. Through her graceful words, raw emotions, feelings and artistic presence, she makes a powerful connection with the universal humanity. Her poems will render joy, and an affirmation that adversities can be overcome and dreams can come true!
Guest Poet and Author Mary Edwards Shares Her Latest Words...
Through The Windows Of My Heart.
If happiness is a picture Please let me paint it now
Then let me close my eyes and live in it somehow
Let me hold it in my heart and never let it go
But let it shine upon my face so all I meet will know
I only paint the happy time to send the sad away
To help me change a saddened heart
 and build a better day
To help me stand up strong and tall
 and never let me faint
Or sit back down and fold my hands
 in streaks of muddied paint
OH NO! for soon my happy heart
 will cover up the pain
And the picture of my life will be a joyous day again
I'll paint with love and happiness
 that I will soon redeem
to paint another happy day and fill it with a dream.
~~~

I wrote this from the thoughts that stayed unanswered about too little time now that it is a heavy cloak to wear.

TIME

The whistling rushing winds of time
 have caught me out,

and fulfilled no promise of the things
 I thought life owed me

I recognize, now that it is late, was me owed life

to fulfill all promises, pay all debts

Oh winds blow backwards, give me time

or back the time I tossed away in forfeit

While I waited, hands open, mind closed
 and could not see your passing.

It's not too late, is it? Not quite too late?

the Knell is not yet ringing, but still I hear time say--
there is so ... little time.

This will not win time, but it is from my head and heart

Love Mary

It is such an honor to have Mary (also author of three published novels) share her poetry, don't you think?

Young Poetist Rachel Elizabeth Eberhart Shares...

God is Forever

"Even the most delicate flower is forever more."
Forever

As the night sets in,

the light still shines,

from heaven to earth,

the brightness of His glory

will always be

forever.

Review: Family and More Ebook by Helena Harper Shares Beautiful Autobiographical Poetry!

Family and More –
Enemies or Friends?
By Helena Harper
Eloquent Books
ISBN: 9781606931271
80 Pages

Helena Harper’s poetry book, Family and More is autobiographical, but that does not detract from the feelings it engenders from readers! We are able to empathize with the author when she asks, which is my enemy? We are able to enjoy the stories she poetically shares about her family. Personally, I was, overall, impressed with the quality to the poetry and the skill that would be required to share these personal tales!

For indeed they are tales—the tale of her grandparents, her parents, and of herself as a baby. Surely we immediately know that Helena’s father is English and they were living there in England when she was born. And they were already hoping and praying that no war—no bombs or guns would invade the life of their child. Would their daughter be a symbol of hope for the future?

Soon we learn that Helena’s mother is from Germany and how that country was in her youth, only to have war enter that picture and the need to leave their country and escape, enduring “soup of water” for lunch or no food at all. Then we see the courageous woman grow and flourish, even while still under duress.

Will those of us who have never experienced war ever really understand? I think we can begin to by reading the words of those who are willing to share them so revealingly...

On she goes to share of her father, her grandmother, and even of her grandfather who she had never known. Yet her love shines through as she has gathered information and placed it carefully together to both learn of and tell others of his life.

I found myself in the story of “The Colleague,” as I remembered the woman who was my first mentor and who has remained my best friend for over 40 years!

...showing the way to a younger one
with new ideas
but just three years under her belt.
A gentle manner guiding the younger
and an open mind willingly receiving

And, alas I also could well relate to “The Boss,” that individual—or worse—those individuals we all have in our lives who turn out to be “a devil in disguise, ready to stab you in the back...”

Harper then includes medical staff, coaches, etc., who have supported her in some way! Surely, Family and More by Helena Harper is a rare tribute; however, it is also a sharing of poetic words that are both beautiful and thought provoking in how we should remember and realize the impact of family and friends...and even an enemy or two. A delightful trip for poetry lovers as well as those who wish to remember their own families through the experiences of others.

Guest Poetist - Devitta R. Jones

I am so happy to share with you two poems by a young 16-year-old friend of mine who I met at Authors Den (click the title to go to her site). She has graciously allowed me to share the following two poems which I especially liked!

For Him I Shall Dance

I shall dance...
To dance
is to give my all unto the Lord
But when I dance
I give all and more
when I dance it's just him and I
no other friends
no one implied
to dance
is to show my faith in the Lord
for He is King
the father of all land
and for Him I shall dance.

Giver Unto My Life

Provider
Father
You're the provider
The healer
The giver unto my life
For what you give
I shall give 10% plus more
For you have provided and will provide
All the things that I need
For all I have to do
Is call upon your name
for you said
I was the head
and not the tail
you said you placed me above
and not beneath
for you are the provider
healer
and surly the giver
unto my life
