Fall Selections from Nellie Wasilewski - With Complementary Music... Enjoy!

September

Brisk air forces the sun

to hide its carefree

summer face.

Lack of light

Ignites the fires of fall,

leaving a blazing trail

of vivid colors behind.

Chill winds blow,

carving paths to winter.

September is the gateway

to cozy fires,

and homemade soup.

A brief respite before

winter clutches the earth

in its icy fingertips.

Fall on the Mountain

Mountain breeze begins to blow
bright colors drift slowly down
sunbeam glitter sparks each leaf
silence and peace abound--the
changing season--a  gift from
the Master of all beauty

Nellie Leverette Wasilewski Shares "Layla Lee" - A Child of Song and Dance!

Layla Lee

You confiscated my heart
child of song and dance.

Waltzing through
transparent ribbons
of imagination,

you held me steadfast
and enthralled.
High spirited, full of energy
and free, you reminded me
of me!
All the things you are,
can and will be
make you every inch
the princess you become
in make believe.

It's not your big blue eyes, or
your appreciation of beautiful
things; but, rather,
your delightful gift of love
with a vivacity
that enchants, surprises
and captivates.

Thank you so much, Nellie Leverette Wasilewski,
for visiting today!

When I read Layla Lee, a child of song and dance,
my immediate thought was to have Shirley Temple
be our Layla Lee - What do you think?!!!

Restless Yearning - Beautiful Poetry - by Nellie Leverette Wasilewski

Restless Yearning

Tossed about
unfulfilled,
I become the wind
flitting here and there.
Something unknown
lures me closer.
Vulnerable, as a lost child
I reach out
desperate.
The Source,
of all my yearning,
cradles me
in His love.
Peace flows
like sweet caramel
over ice,
melting the
frozen core
of me.

The Father's Masterpiece by Nellie Leverette Wasilewski During National Poetry Month!

The Father's Masterpiece

Smooth worn
path
caresses my
unsandaled
feet.
A wispy forsythia
bows
its yellow bonnet
to pray.
Colorful Cardinals
add mystique to
budding trees,
and the lilacs,
ah, yes, the lilacs!
A whiff of His
fragrance
lingers still...

Nellie Leverette Wasilewski Shares The Weakest Link during National Poetry Month!

The Weakest Link

(A Prayer for Strength)

In the stillness of morning,
I wait in churning anxiety.
I pray The Lord will open
the shutters to my heart and still
its frantic beating.

Oh, that I could be stronger
and wait patiently for God's
answers to prayer.  I pray
to be mired, so deeply, in trust
with him that all doubt is
extirpated.

Condition the channels
of my thinking, oh Lord,
and let me rest on the wings
of peace that you have promised.
Condition my soul to place hope
in you and discard the things
of earth.

Teach me through trust and hope
to wait for your divine guidance.
Give me strength as we forge
an everlasting chain of faith--
a chain as strong as its weakest
link--please God, forgive my
human frailties
