Spring Means Green and HOPE has Arrived! "God's amazing ways never cease to create awe in all that He is and does to bring us to a reliance on Him for absolutely everything. I think learning to trust in Him when all seems final is a lifelong ongoing lesson..." (Photo credit: cobalt123) |
Giving Thanks When
Hope Seems Lost
By Laura Smith
When someone decides to share her life with you, you can expect that others suggested that she write her story. So it was with Laura Smith. They know that when other people, such as them, hear her story that it will help them in some way...
For instance, I was given a renewal of Hope just by reading her story. Very little applied to me, but I thought of members of my family that had suffered through such turmoil. In my opinion, we all need to be reminded again and again that we can indeed "make it through" things that happen in our lives. If you have lost hope for any reason, I believe Laura's story will help you through.
Laura is a dedicated wife and mother. You can tell that just by "how" she shares her story. She is also, now, a woman who will easily share her Christian testimony, while, at the same time, she did not always feel that confidence, the knowledge that God is there...in all things...
Laura dedicates her book to those women who have miscarried or aborted a child and reveals the depth of her loss of her third child, which would have been the first with her husband Tony. Later, she wrote a poem, "Dear Daniel":
The first time that we met
My spirit leapt within me
Before I knew that it was you,
I knew that it was you.
The vision came one Sunday...
When you learn of her vision, you will understand why Laura was urged to share this story...
For myself, who has always been close to my one sister and her children, the stories and hardships of her other two children were ones I more related to. Perhaps I heard my sister pray something similar:
6/26/ God help me to have grace for Vicky and be the loving mother you have chose me to be for this child. She tries my every nerve until they are open, raw and bleeding. Please, Father; help me see within her heart and through your eyes.Paige was an entirely different child, one with whom you will relate as her physical health problems were shared.
Smith writes her story as if she is sharing with you, the reader. What she shares may be similar to parts of your own life, similar to people you love. You know, many writers have said that a book was given to them by God. When I worked at a Christian Publishing Company, I learned that this was often said as books were submitted.
But Laura was keeping the power and glory of her story as her personal secret! Isn't it wonderful when there is personal communication with your Heavenly Father? But Laura found out differently...
Read Laura Smith's story! Renew your spirit! Rejoice and give thanks...
