Robert Sells, Political Commentator, Discusses Latest Court Case of Republican Party Presidential Candidate...Spotlighting Congressional Leader's Actions!

Check to right column for Sells' Latest!

Mike Johnson: “This was a purely political exercise, not a legal one… a shameful day in American history.”.

No. It was our judicial system working just as it was designed, Mr. Speaker. Since you don’t seem to understand how our legal system works, let me enlighten you.
The district attorney decides what crime to ascribe to a defendant. That is exclusively his prerogative. Whether or not a case should be brought to the criminal court is decided not by the prosecution nor by the defense. Instead, it is decided by a grand jury… twenty or more American citizens who listen to the evidence brought forth by the prosecution. Whether or not the case proceeds to trial is exclusively their responsibility. It was the grand jury, a group of American citizens, who decided to bring the case to trial AS IS DONE IN ALL CRIMINAL CASES. Not President Biden, not the Democrats.
The jury is picked by both the defense and the prosecution equally and fairly. Once the jury is picked, the trial is overseen by a judicial expert, the judge. Donald is certainly not an expert on legal matters so whatever he claims about the judge or the trial is superfluous. Despite what he may want, he does not call the shots in the courtroom. Finally, the jury, twelve Americans, weight the evidence and decide upon guilt or innocence. They decided Donald was guilty on all 34 counts. Donald nor you have any say in this matter, Mr. Speaker of guilt or innocence in the eyes of the law… just the twelve common men and women.
So, the “exercise” was perfectly legal. Admittedly, it wasn’t what Donald wanted. Once again, he has shown himself to be a poor loser by blaming the court instead of himself. Was the process shameful? Not at all, Mr. Speaker. It was a sterling example in which the court system worked perfectly without fear or favor.
What was shameful were the deprecating remarks you and other MAGA Republicans said about the rule of law. Instead of respecting the result, you rejected the rule of law. Shame on you!

~~~
Donald, convicted felon, continues to make false statements. Here’s one about why he thought his trial was “unfair”: “The judge allowed them [prosecution] to go into everything I was ever involved in.”
No, not everything, Donald. Nothing was said about how you were stripped of your “charity” because you used it for your own personal gain. Nothing was said about the young ladies in your beauty tournaments who you embarrassed by barging into their dressing rooms unannounced. Nothing was said about you being found liable for defaming columnist E. Jean regarding your sexual assault of her. Nothing was said about you exaggerating the value of his real estate and now having to pay back the government over $500 million. Nothing was said about your intimate involvement regarding the Jan. 6th insurrection. Nothing was said about your deliberate stealing and then deliberate hiding of Top-Secret documents. Nothing was said about your seven bankruptcies. Nothing was said about your unreliable credibility, your many, many lies… over 30,000 of which you made while being president. Finally, nothing was said about you duping your followers by asking them for campaign money which is then being used to pay off your debts.
~~~

When under so many indictments, it is wrong for Donald to run for president. He even said so himself!
After Donald found out the FBI were investigating Hillary Clinton for her missing emails, he said the following: "She is likely to be under investigation for many years, and also it will probably end up – in my opinion – in a criminal trial. I mean, you take a look. Who knows? But it certainly looks that way. She has no right to be running, you know that. No right."
LOL. And now Donald is past the investigation phase… four (4) grand juries have viewed the evidence and are convinced he should stand trial in four (4) criminal cases. Four! And, one is already completed and he was found guilty! So, per his own words, he “has no right to be running”. And, MAGA followers, just to quote your master again… “You know that. No right.”

We all wonder when the republican party will face the reality of what has happened... Too much delay has occurred due to the standard justice system where appeals can be made... But, let's face it, so many lies from the republicans have eroded the value of Truth. Robert Sells presents cogent, logical statements of fact, yet there would be many who say he is lying! Simply because they disagree... Because they have heard their choice of president speaking year in and year out lie after lie after lie... How can the average citizen discover and willingly admit that they've been lied to for so long... Will they ever get over that they have been fooled by a conman? Only time will tell...

It's Monday, Time to Hear from Robert Sells Providing His Political Thoughts! Hate, Violence--Primary Acts of GOP Supporters?

An event recently occurred that should cause shivers of fear in every American. There was a Nazi rally in Florida.
Because Donald has adopted many of the techniques of Hitler, he has endeared himself to the ultra-right. Donald has done nothing to decry their support. In fact, he has actually openly courted their support. For example, he invited Nick Fuentes, a neo-Nazi to dinner.
When pressed to disavow a Nazi rally in Charlottesville, Donald said there were “good people” on both sides. When pushed to condemn white supremacist and militia groups during a presidential debate, he actually said "Proud Boys, stand back and STAND BY." Presently many of this group are serving long prison sentences for their role in the January 6th insurrection. Regarding that insurrection, Donald has frequently referred to the ultra-right criminal participants as “good people” and said that, when elected in 2024, he would pardon many, perhaps most of the criminals who violently participated in trying to overturn our democracy.
Many in the GOP (Gross Oligarch Party) will say that this Nazi rally had nothing to do with Donald. Wrong! It had much to do with Donald. His violent rhetoric and ugly name-calling resonates with and empowers these demented people. If they didn’t have the backing of Der Fuhrer, they would be less numerous and less open about their hatred of Jews, people of color, and immigrants.
Oh, and by the way, this Nazi rally took place in front of the Disney Springs entry-way with anti-LGBTQ flags and signs. Really. They were demonstrating in front of Disney! Later a larger group marched through the streets of Orlando wearing matching uniforms (red shirts, black masks and black pants), waving swastika flags, performing Hitler salutes and shouting hateful messages that included “White power” and “Jews will not replace us.”
Yes, Donald. There must have been “good people” in these groups as well.

Here is the man who MAGA cheers for and wants to have back as our president--Violence, Lies and Prejudice:

Prosecutors of the indictments: “If You Go After Me, I'm Coming After You!”
Soccer star: “Nice shot Megan, the USA is going to Hell!!!”
Pelosi: “She is a Wicked Witch whose husband’s journey from hell starts and finishes with her. She is a sick & demented psycho who will someday live in HELL!”

His former VP: “'Liddle' Mike Pence, a man who was about to be ousted as Governor of Indiana until I came along and made him V.P., has gone to the Dark Side.”

Women: “Grab ‘em by the pussy.”
Employee: “When you give a crazed, crying lowlife a break, and give her a job at the White House, I guess it just didn’t work out. Good work by General Kelly for quickly firing that dog!”
Then, of course, there is Donald being unquestionably the greatest poor loser of all time: “THE ELECTION WAS RIGGED!”

Ahh, MAGA this is your man, your savior, your Fuhrer. MAGA. Be proud. Because the rest of America and the world find him despicable and dangerous to our democracy.

It's Monday, and Robert Sells, Author and Political Commentator Points Out - It's Really Very Simple - Social Soapbox

Anniversary of January 6th Insurrection
Against America

It's really very simple.

A person who calls reputable news sources FAKE NEWS when such organizations call him out on his lies or mistakes should not be president.
A person who asks the leader of another country to investigate a potential political opponent should not be president.
A person who calls a fair and accurate presidential vote ELECTION RIGGING nearly every day for over two years should not be president.
A person who uses inflammatory language to stoke the fires of anger and fear in his followers should not be president.
A person who watches violence perpetrated on our Capitol for over two hours and refuses to protect and preserve the sanctity and safety of the Capitol should not be president.
A person who promises to pardon most of the sentenced criminals who broke into a federal building and battled with police should not be president.
A person who deliberately purloined classified documents from the White House and refused to return such documents should not be president.
Any of the above actions should disqualify any individual from being president. Donald Trump has committed all of them. It's really very simple.

~~~
Donald's Truth Social soapbox will have to be upgraded. As with Facebook (Donald was kicked off of this platform due to his excessive lies and inflammatory language) right now users can only choose between lower-case and upper-case letters. The Great Deceiver of small minds often uses upper-case letters to emphasize some statement... it's tantamount to him yelling. In the past, he reserved his “yelling” for different phrases: DEEP STATE... FAKE NEWS... ELECTION RIGGING. Recently, the poor man has been worried about a number of possible upcoming indictments: one from Georgia, at least one from New York, and a couple from the DOJ.
He's more and more unhinged and his posts are increasingly more and more frenetic. Here's one he posted this week... all in CAPS (can you hear him yelling?): “I WAS BEING FRAMED BY THE FBI AND THE DOJ. NOW IT CONTINUES WITH THE BOXES HOAX, THE “PERFECT” PHONE CALL IN ATLANTA, THE MANHATTAN D.A., AND THE NEW YORK STATE A.G. SCAM. WHAT A GROUP, BUT ALL REPORT TO THE DOJ IN WASHINGTON. IT’S JAMES COMEY AND THE SLEAZEBAGS ALL OVER AGAIN. THEY ARE PLAYING ELECTION INTERFERENCE IN 2024 THROUGH ILLEGAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGAINST REPUBLICANS, IN PARTICULAR YOUR FAVORITE PRESIDENT, ME. THESE ARE CHEATING LOWLIFES, BUT WE WILL WIN. OUR COUNTRY IS GOING TO HELL!”
No, he was not “FRAMED BY THE FBI AND THE DOJ”. Rather he was investigated by both since he had so many questionable connections with our arch enemy Russia.
BOXES HOAX? Really, Donald? You deliberately refused to hand over the purloined documents to the National Archives. You even bragged about how it was your RIGHT to take any materials with you. PERFECT PHONE CALL? You were pushing a state official to find just enough votes to carry the state for you. It's called election fraud and you were trying to get that official to commit that crime.
I have no idea what you mean by ELECTION INTERFERENCE IN 2024. You might be genius enough to see into the future but I'm not. You end with “WE WILL WIN”.
Of course, if you don't, you are already setting the stage for ELECTION FRAUD in that upcoming election with your ELECTION INTERFERENCE IN 2024. Finally, the country is not going to Hell. Actually on the day you wrote this illegal immigration was falling, the debt crisis was positively moving toward a bipartisan resolution, and President Biden gave awards to police who went above and beyond the call of duty to quell mass shootings.
So, why exactly does Donald need to upgrade Truth Social? Well, since he's yelling ALL THE TIME, he needs to somehow emphasize various incendiary phrases again. I suggest that he adds a bold-face option to his Truth Social. That way he could have CAPITALIZED and bold-faced “OUR COUNTRY IS GOING TO HELL!”. Ahh, that would have been REALLY LOUD SHOUTING.
~~~
When it's Appropriate, which this was,
I love a little sarcasm...
But I'd also like to claim that phrase...
Going to Hell...as a Lie
God has promised us So Much More!
!!!

L is for Liar.

In 1997, Bill Clinton said, “I did not have sex with that woman,” which, of course, was a lie. What he should have said was, “I did not provide dry-cleaning services for that woman.”

Perhaps the most famous (infamous?) lie of all came in 2003, when George W. Bush started the war in Iraq because “there were weapons of mass destruction” there. There weren’t; it was a lie. (Unless, of course, he believed it and, fifteen years later, he’s still looking for them, in much the same way O.J. is still looking for Nicole’s real killer).

Those political lies stand out because they were aberrations, not the norm. Donald Trump lies so often and so frequently that the truth stands out—or at least it will, if he ever tells it. Donald Trump tells all kinds of lies.
He tells lies of defamation (that Ted Cruz’s father was involved in the JFK assassination, for example); lies of dissembling, which is lying by posing as someone you’re not (Trump used to call journalists and pretend he was his own publicist); lies of deception (he fired Comey because of the “way he handled the Hillary email investigation”; even Trump didn’t believe that one!); lies of fabrication (he said Muslims in New Jersey were cheering on 9/11); and my favorite, bald-faced lies (for example, about the size of the crowd at his inauguration, in spite of aerial photos proving that what he was saying was patently false).
The truly fascinating thing is that Trump lies when it’s unnecessary and for no apparent reason. To this day, he carries on about how he was at the top of his class at Wharton Business School, a lie that (a) is not true, (b) was about something from fifty years ago, and (c) nobody cares about. If I said I was the Queen of Sweden from 1963 to 1964, it would clearly be a lie, but would you give a flying fuck? No. You’d just wonder why I would lie about something like that. Which brings us to the real problem with Trump’s lying: credibility.
If he’s lying about inconsequential things, how will we know if he’s telling the truth about big things, like a nuclear attack or a health pandemic or whether he’s hung like a horse, as he claims? It’s hard to trust someone who lies constantly. The philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche said it best: “I’m not upset that you lied to me, I’m upset that from now on I can’t believe you.” (He was deep.)
Donald Trump is like an adult version of the character in Aesop’s fable “The Boy Who Cried Wolf.” The boy lied and lied and lied about the wolf coming for his sheep, and then, one day, the wolf really did come, but nobody helped the boy fight the wolf off because they no longer believed him. In the end, the boy was eaten by the wolf. I think that if Trump keeps on compulsively lying, sooner or later no one will believe him, and he’ll get eaten by the wolf. And so will we, even though we have not been the ones doing all the lying. And that pisses me off.

Frankly, Folks, I believe Robert Sells when he states that It's Really Very Simple. But you don't have to believe Sells, Joy Behar...or Me...All you have to do is do your research. Nothing we've said can be proved...false... Now it's up to you to find out why the republican party continues to support a proven liar... And now has adopted his philosophy of not telling the truth. Sometimes we all need to reflect on the truth of it all... and how the violence was downplayed, ignored, or lied about... When the MAGA followers attacked our Nation...

Robert Sells, Political Commentator, Discusses Latest Lies From Former President (At This Week's Rally After Criminal Indictments)

Robert Sells, Political Commentator.

Watching a pathological liar give a speech is like having reality ripped up and casually tossed aside. You wonder for a moment if you are crazy. So, let me assure anyone who watched Donald last night… yes, he lied many, many times. A firehose of lies. Below are a few.

“Under the act [Presidential Records Act], I’m supposed to negotiate with NARA, the National Archives and Records Administration.” There is no negotiation. The moment a president leaves office, NARA gets custody and control of all presidential records from his administration.
Then came the nine-year old argument: why-are-you-picking-on-me: “…taking boxes of documents and mostly clothing and other things to my home is something which President Obama has done. The Bushes have done. Jimmy Carter’s done. Ronald Reagan is done. Everybody’s done.” Nope. There is no evidence that previous presidents deliberately held on to any Presidential papers.
Biden won Georgia by 11,779 votes. Recorded on a phone call, Donald expressed a desire to “find 11,780 votes.” Last night Donald said, “Nobody found anything wrong with that perfect call until a book promotion tour many months later.” First, it was obviously not a “perfect” call. It is now being investigated in Georgia as possible obstruction of justice and an illegal attempt at altering election results. Second, there was no delay. The Washington Post broke the story of the call THE DAY AFTER IT HAPPENED. Every clear-thinking, patriotic American was aghast at the slimy way Donald tried to have the Georgia Secretary of State alter election results. Kamala Harris, then vice president-elect, called Trump’s comments a “bald-faced, bold abuse of power”.
Of course, Donald continued the Big Lie as he claimed that there were “millions of votes illegally stuffed into ballot boxes, and all caught on government cameras.” There is no evidence of “millions of votes illegally stuffed”. None. Hundreds? No. Dozens? Unlikely, but admittedly possible. For the ENTIRE country there was a tiny smattering of voter fraud JUST LIKE THERE IS EVERY ELECTION. For this election and all past elections, it’s about 0.027%. Some of this insignificant amounts were actually committed by Trump supporters! Indeed, William Barr (Attorney General at the time of the election), acknowledged there was definitely not sufficient fraud to have changed the outcome.
Desperate Donald is distorting reality to justify unethical and criminal behavior. MAGA will believe him, but not clear-thinking Americans making up most of the electorate.

Those were the things I told myself as I nagged and wheedled and tried to convince him to take the idea of running for the White House seriously. I knew he was a liar and a master manipulator, along with the myriad less-than-sterling characteristics I had witnessed over the years, but I believed his positive qualities outweighed the downsides and perfection shouldn’t be the enemy of good. But here’s the ugly truth—a motive I share with deep and abiding regret and shame, and one only unearthed after much soul searching and reflection as I painted the walls in prison and stared at the ceiling from my bunk.
The real real truth about why I wanted Trump to be president was because I wanted the power that he would bring to me. I wanted to be able to crush my enemies and rule the world. I know it sounds crazy, but look at what Trump is doing now: running the world, into the ground, but still, he literally rules. Underneath all the layers of delusion and wishful thinking and willful ignorance and stupidity, I was like Gollum in The Lord of the Rings, lusting after the power that would come from possessing the White House—“my precious”—and I was more than willing to lie, cheat, and bully to win. Trump was the only person I had ever encountered who I believed could actually pull off that feat, and I recognized early the raw talent and charisma and pure ruthless ambition to succeed he possessed.
I saw what others didn’t, what others thought was a joke, at their own peril, and that was my true motive. I knew Trump would do whatever was necessary to win. I just lacked the imagination and moral purpose to actually think about what that would mean for America, the world, for me, and for my family. Because here’s the thing: When you sell your soul, you do exactly that: sell your soul.
Cohen, Michael. Disloyal: A Memoir: The True Story of the Former Personal Attorney to President Donald J. Trump (pp. 90-91).

President Trump strode to the lectern wearing a dark-blue suit, a blue silk tie, and a flag lapel pin. Standing in front of a wall of American flags, he was flanked by Vice President Mike Pence and First Lady Melania Trump. It was still Election Night, though the clocks had long ago raced past midnight and it was now nearly 2:30 a.m. on November 4.

The world was watching as the Big Lie was born.

“This is a fraud on the American public,” Trump said. “This is an embarrassment to our country. We were getting ready to win this election. “Frankly, we did win this election.”

What followed from Election Night was a two-month assault on the vote, in which Trump and his allies exhausted every avenue to overturn the will of the people—a sustained effort in which he was aided by Republicans and that led to an unthinkable attack on the nation’s very capital. But Trump, of course, had taken the first steps to this moment more than four years before, with accusations against his own party during the 2016 Iowa caucus and then the full-throated conspiracy theories about election fraud that he first unveiled in an otherwise routine Ohio rally that summer. He spent his entire term moving further down that path, brazenly lying without consequence, knowing that his supporters would follow him and his fellow Republicans would back him. He had steadfastly assaulted the pillars of government and its institutions, attacking their credibility, so when the moment came—when it was time for a lie bigger than an altered hurricane map, time for one about the central tenet of the nation’s democracy—enough of the public would believe him. Election 2020 and the Truth

The Big Truth: democracy is made up of millions of little truths, intimate and interlocking truths. Truths found in the votes cast by Americans in person or by mail. Truths found in the citizenry that voluntarily counts those votes and dutifully reports the results. Truths found in election officials who scrape together the means by which elections are held, public servants who create the voting precincts, buy the equipment to tally the votes, and manage the process of moving the votes along the line to be tallied and certified . . . so that they may be transparently confirmed and trusted. Truths found in this collaborative exercise of civic virtue are more obvious and verifiable than they have ever been in our history. The Big Truth is a variation of E Pluribus Unum—from many one. From millions of little truths we form a Big Truth, one we should celebrate, and almost always have before, but somehow now can’t, or that troubles us or feels less settled than it should. This book is about those little truths and The Big Truth. It is devoted to the people who make each little truth meaningful so that The Big Truth may flourish. Garrett, Major; Becker, David. The Big Truth: Upholding Democracy in the Age of “The Big Lie” (p. 66).
