When I think of a week, it's the traditional work week of M-F... Unless I need to, I've been trying to keep the weekend for dealing with home issues--personal issues. I was thinking about what book I wanted to use today. It's not the one I really want to use next as a step forward, but the one I'll be talking about does mention it and also provides valuable issues related to the present situation we are facing via today's headlines...
Sadly, it didn't even surprise me that a child chose to commit a school shooting--Again! But it was just one more thing that can be attributed to the present total control of one political party who is quickly acting to destroy as much of the Nation as possible... The ongoing refusal to do something in congress related to gun control, stopped by one political party, results yet again, in children being murdered...
Now, the child (16) was not even old enough to have a gun but feel they can kill without concern. Especially when the president of this country has initiated the murder of people on the streets of the United States... and across the world... Can we blame those who are incited by actions of a leader who attempts to say Do as I Sat, Not as I Do?
I start this next section with an explanation of why this has been a bad week... In fact, it's been about three weeks now. I must acknowledge that I am in full depression/PTSD based upon having been diagnosed with Job Burnout. With PTSD after effects. This is not a pity party, poor me, message, however, let me make that clear. Rather, in my opinion... many, many people in the world could well be, also, in Job Burnout, given what has been happening... Incited by a political party and all financial partners who have chosen to remove constitutional rule and our freedoms for personal gain. There is NO shame in being pulled into such a situation by a man/people who have chosen, for personal ambitions, to forget about humanitarian needs of those they feel are inferior in one way or another--based upon their personal judgments...
It's been more than 20 years when my doctor at that time said, "It's your job or your life. You must choose now!" This ultimately led to a medical leave and ultimately my decision to retire... while the administration never bothered to talk to me or ask what was going on, but sent me a letter that my position was being eliminated.... I call it being Fired--after have just received a recognition pin of 38 years of continuous employment during which I moved, constantly upward, based upon job performance and requests to apply for positions. Until an authoritarian leader decided he knew enough to have me report only to him. I became a whistleblower in small ways... Because I answered questions truthfully--to deans, directors, academic provost (to whom I had been reporting directly to for all academic needs--the business of a university...
Other than medical issues, I have mostly led a wonderful retirement, doing exactly what my God-given talents were available to effectively use. I went into publishing and then into book reviewing (editing, etc) I'll not get into specifics on this post--this is what I've experienced during this past week...and why... To do that, I felt a need to provide the following information for anybody who is feeling depressed, helpless, afraid, and other emotional feelings, including being drive to negative emotions... I say to you--at this time, YOU--Each of Us have a right to claim those emotions. Simply because, if you allow yourself to acknowledge that we now have NO control over our own lives, then we have a right to have feelings that could allow you to...vent...as millions are doing right now...including me (below)...
Job burnout was officially recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) on May 28, 2019, when it was included in the 11th Revision of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11). [1]Crucially, the WHO does not classify burnout as a medical disease or condition, but rather as an "occupational phenomenon" and an occupational syndrome.
Why It Was Recognized
Chronic Workplace Stress: The WHO recognized it to address the growing global impact of chronic, unmanaged workplace stress on individuals.
Updating Classification: It updated previous classifications (which viewed burnout Chronic Workplace Stress: The WHO recognized it to address the growing global impact of chronic, unmanaged workplace stress on individuals.
Updating Classification: It updated previous classifications (which viewed burnout vaguely as a life-management problem) into a structured, three-dimensional syndrome.
Defining Symptoms: The WHO established three specific criteria to describe how burnout manifests in a work context:
Feelings of energy depletion or exhaustion.
Increased mental distance from one's job, or feelings of negativism or cynicism related to work.
Reduced professional efficacy or accomplishment.
Workplace Scope:
The classification explicitly limits burnout to the occupational context—meaning it applies strictly to work-related stress rather than general life stress.

Relationship to PTSD
Clinical and psychological research has established a strong, multi-layered correlation between job burnout and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
While burnout is triggered by chronic workplace stress and PTSD is historically rooted in a specific traumatic event, scientists and psychologists view them as deeply interconnected.
The primary ways the after effects of job burnout correlate with or cross over into PTSD include:
1. Burnout as a "Gateway" to PTSD Symptoms
Neurological research shows that severe, chronic burnout dysregulates the Hypothalamus-Pituitary-Adrenal (HPA) axis—the body's master stress-response system. When a person is chronically burned out, their biological reserves are entirely depleted. This state of exhaustion leaves the brain's nervous system highly vulnerable, making an individual significantly more susceptible to developing full PTSD symptoms if they experience a sudden traumatic event at work.
2. Overlapping Symptom Clusters (The Shared Biology)
The biological aftereffects of long-term burnout often look identical to PTSD because both conditions keep the body's "fight-or-flight" system permanently turned on. This creates identical physical and psychological aftereffects:
Hypervigilance: Burned-out individuals frequently develop a persistent sense of being "on edge," experiencing a heightened startle response, panic when thinking about the workplace, and an inability to physically relax.
Avoidance & Cynicism: The "cynicism" and emotional detachment of burnout directly parallel the psychological avoidance and emotional numbing seen in PTSD. People begin aggressively avoiding certain tasks, meetings, or emails because their brain flags them as a threat to their safety.
3. The Role of Secondary Traumatic Stress (STS)
In high-stress fields (such as healthcare, emergency services, and social work), burnout is highly co-morbid with Secondary Traumatic Stress (STS)—often referred to as compassion fatigue. Studies show that workers exposed to traumatic content or hostile workplace environments concurrently develop both conditions. Over time, the exhaustion of burnout compromises a person's emotional processing, causing the secondary trauma to manifest as PTSD-like symptoms, including intrusive memories and work-related nightmares.
4. Direct Comorbidity
Large-scale professional surveys highlight how often these conditions co-occur. For example, a 2025 study published in PubMed analyzing healthcare professionals found that over 16% of participants simultaneously exhibited symptoms of both burnout and PTSD, experiencing drastically higher levels of perceived stress and prolonged cognitive fatigue than those suffering from burnout alone.

Note: I had hoped to use a video that I had partially watched yesterday on YouTube television. I searched on my desktop to hopefully find it. Try Gemini--it was the worst response I've ever received... Another bad day... it seems...
To set the stage, this is a reminder that as of 2015, I began to see and started working to learn more about how religion had become such an influential part of politics, especially seeing the type of individuals elected. I began to binge on news programs, CNN, initially... I learned about books being written as a result of the election and purchased them... and I began to connect my beliefs against how religion was being manipulated, in my opinion, and merging books/news videos into a full overview of how it affected me, a victim of job burnout... the original plan to writing a self-help about living with job burnout...
From all people I hear talking about on television, news stations or in conversations, the majority of people have been shocked by what began on the first day of the second term of the present president. And it didn't take long... I was watching a man who was not only an authoritarian, but one who had no moral code of any kind close to those which had been in my personal life until, now, 2025-26
It began with flashes of PTSD of the dreams I called "nightmares" which placed me back into work scenes trying to either get the work done, or dealing with people problems as a supervisor, or negotiating with deans and directors seeking additional space for their university programs. My recommendations were based on my analysis using a methodology for use of space as created for federal utilization of facilities for institutions receiving federal funds. As well as created by the new director from the University of Maryland who became my boss and mentor... If I could not obtain acceptance of my recommendations/ decisions among multiple departments, the final decision could proceed upward until the respective vp/provost made a final decision. I knew immediately that the second term elected president did not have the authority to make the decisions he immediately implemented, but ONLY through the override/assignment of immunity by the supreme court. Also an illegal action... We had lost the rule of law in our nation.
Yesterday, I reached my breaking point...
Without sharing personal reasons (irrelevant)
I had to meet with a new lawyer and had finally found someone who was recommended... But the topic was something I'd been trying to get done for years, but had not succeeded... I knew one thing as I walked in, I was going to make sure, I knew exactly what was being said as options...
Multiple people were involved, agreement was still not obtained.
I started crying and couldn't stop (brain changes from Job burnout left two results when PTSD strikes: I cry or get angry... This time it was both
I looked at the lawyer and said "I live with PTSD daily not knowing what is going to happen today. I looked at him and said I don't trust you. The President daily breaks the law with the supreme court giving him immunity..." My social security information has been shared outside the government--will I even continue to get it?!"
He sat quietly, his head bowed...but I couldn't stop crying...until I did...
And I didn't apologize to him. I had a big reason not to trust lawyers and I wanted him to know it... It had to be done.
A decision was soon made
Whether or not a decision was made that day was really not than as relevant, to me, really. I had said what I needed to say or else I couldn't have moved on to conclusion... My Truth was now part of the record...
For me, it is a major problem that there is NOW no way to stop this administration other than, hopefully, through voting...
In my opinion, that should not have become possible and we all need to work to ensure it doesn't happen again, I hope...
While Job Burnout is now only for the work environment, we all know that many women, children, and sometimes even some men have be overcome with stress for many reasons... It may not be as traumatic...but it IS a result of your being place in situations where you are helpless to act...

Recently, I had commented that I had started reading a book by Nevada Barr and was a little disappointed... I soon discovered I was wrong... I'll be talking about it soon. I'm still helpless to deal with the overwhelming demands for computer attention which, in my opinion, comes from two reasons... the demand by the president to WIN placing great pressure on tech giants, even if they may think they want to move forward. In my opinion, they are far from ready to move into a point where heavy mathematics and scientific skills will be required to further advance than "clean-up" of what is already diminishing use by users... My postings may not be permitted or able to be accomplished. I hope you, perhaps, have signed up for mail notice if you'd like to continue reading Gabby Talking Books... More on the way...

Stopping!
I am going to use a word I don't really like to use...
But I am coming to hate AI/Amazon
After about 10 tries, I give up... Either Too much unwanted Information
Or can't even find it...a book I got there...
Even though it's on my Kindle Fire and now reading!
Suddenly a search for a book cover takes over 10 attempts and still doesn't have the book I bought there... The same book is listed as $500 for hard copy???!!!
Yeah, right... Scam or not? Something is very wrong...in my opinion...
Sick and Tire of Being Sick and Tired...
