How Can We Know? A Look Back at January 6th 5 Years Ago! We Could Not Have Foreseen What Came!!! Open Memoir

 

I never turned away from the television yesterday, 5 years ago. I could not believe what was happening, even with my own eyes... I will never forget it and so should we NOT! That day, an elected president refused to give up his position when the election by the people, for the people, chose another President!

Many of you know that when I heard Donald Trump say he could grab women by their "pussy," I became what you might call a fanatic...

But it was not a MAGA FANATIC. Rather, it was my goal to determine why I had been told by a member of my family that, "If I was a Christian, I must vote Republican!"

Why on earth was I being told how to vote! For me, I've never seen a connection between religion and politics. Indeed, I was there listening when the Separation of Church and State was explore many years ago and became law... To my amazement, then, it was to learn that the entire group of evangelical christians were supporting Donald Trump's 2016 election! I could not comprehend! I had seen how he treated women. I knew that many believers followed God's Truth and Love. How could the basic beliefs of Christianity be so skewed to have an entire denomination choose someone with a background such as DJT? It remains an illogical mystery to me!

Perhaps it was because, like many working people, we barely had time to do our job, keep up with personal and medical needs, and provide for food and shelter. I had started working for West Virginia University when I was just 18, directly out of high school. I was hired by the Office of Personnel there and spent 5 years in that office, moving upward, thereafter, mostly by somebody else's initiation. I held staff and women concerns positions on campus--one elected; one appointed. I was known as someone who saw what needed to be addressed and worked to do it--even if we never succeeded (such as child care on campus)...

But, to me, my life was no different, I thought. Politics was something you tried to keep up-to-date on, but as long as the country was running, I could deal with my own issues, just like everybody else... The first political incident in which I took notice was Bush sending us into Iraq... My reaction at the time? Our taxes were paying for rebuilding a country where we should not have been... Only afterward did it come out, that the information supposedly used to justify what the United States did...was...wrong...

I had walked all the way to the top of this great monument and felt pride in knowing that our country welcomed those who sought help from distant lands. After all, that is how the lands now called the United States had become a great country. Through people coming from across the world to find a home for FREEDOM... It was only later as history was more open that I learned that those who came, often used violence, theft and more to claim this land for their own--even from those who already had lived there for hundreds of years... How Can We Know the WHYS OF ALL THAT HAPPENED IN THE PAST?

HOW CAN WE KNOW THE WHYS OF ALL THAT IS HAPPENING NOW WHEN SUPPOSEDLY WE ARE A CIVILIZED COUNTRY?

Needless to say, from 2115 to now, I watched how the U.S. citizens, or those who seek help from the country to whom France had once given The Statue of Liberty to recognize our open heart and mind to those in need... have been treated by politicians... It grew steadily worse as of January, 2025!

How can we know what has happened. When even the president of a country lies from one day to another and has turned away from all election promises to be an autocrat, a man of violence, thirst for power and revenge and riches... How can we know when the Supreme Court has allowed all of this to happen?! Does that mean the majority of U.S. Citizens can no longer feel secure in being citizens of a democratic land? Because, we all KNOW that you are able to find the truth, even if you were once fooled by the republican party... We KNOW it's been wrong with all that is occurring right now! Will only a few realize what has been done, and seek forgiveness? And, consider this, why was it only one woman who refused to be pardoned for the crimes committed on January 6th, was willing to speak to Congress to share her truth of how MAGA had misled many...

They found this plaque hidden away! It was ordered under the previous administration... It was never hung... How can we know what more has been hidden? We know that all that was done during the last administration has either been delayed or overruled--or hidden and lied about--how can we know what has happened that is not being discovered via media that supports democracy and the constitution?! Can any of it be discovered/recovered...

We knew that one of the reasons that Trump needed to win the election was to stop the many court cases underway. Jack Smith was relieved of his position as Special Counsel for two of those cases. As time went on, Smith attempted to get approval for a public presentation of his findings. It was denied. It was only based upon continued pressure and requests from the minority party that he was able to provide the presented information.

Let's face it.... It is WELL BEYOND  what should have been prevented! It is also clearly obvious that both the Supreme Court and the activities of the lack of action by, in particular, the House of Representatives had been fraudulent and criminally neglected. Instead the Speaker refused to allow members of Congress to gather for weeks at a time... All the time, blaming the Democratic party for being the problem...Give me a Break! Anybody that at least follows news once a day clearly saw the devastation from day 1!

You know that day that he promised that prices for grocers would be reduce on day 1... and then ignored totally...

You know that soon thereafter, Trump initiated the tariffs across the world, which automatically increased costs...trying to claim that WE citizens would NOT be paying for those increased costs! His lies aren't even "good" lies!

You saw that Trump brought in an outsider and his staff with no authority and gave access to all records related to finance... Committed funds were stopped on, for instance, Infrastructure projects... Complete programs were deleted, such as USAID... People were being fired based upon DEI, an illegal action! In fact, every single thing that has been done has been illegally incited or generated by the autocratic actions of individuals never confirmed through normal processes... Security issues have been shielded even to those in "Need to Know" positions...

You know, folks, I went into Job Burnout when changes were made by new administrators even before they knew what I was responsible for... And they never bothered to learn... But my life was not ruined. I kept my eyes open and filed for retirement because I had the proper time in--even if I hadn't planned on retiring then. But I have to acknowledge. NOTHING THAT HAPPENED TO ME HAS BEEN EVEN COMPARABLY CRITICAL AS HAS BEEN DONE TO THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN FIRED WITHOUT CORRECT PROCEDURES... Rules, laws, procedures--the greatest asset of any organization, its people-- mean nothing to this administration... Those of you who have worked for most of or some part of your lives know that ignoring accountability will lead to failure! Each of us must work to ensure the United States is not destroyed completely... It's bad now--we all know it... And instead of trying to help deal with the U.S. problems, the entire administration has been looking outward where they can grab even more power... Even if they can lead the United States! 

During the first administration, I watched CNN almost exclusively, but then people started claiming that I needed to watch more than CNN... So I changed to MSNOW (new name) plus watched PBS, David Muir... I already knew not to watch Fox from the first 4 years of lies, especially after Fox had to pay restitution for lying about election machine fraud! My point is not that I was watching as much, but that I found that by reviewing multiple, reputable TV stations, I could ensure that what I was listening to was as true as it could be, given that lies continued to be stated and then further lies were made to cover what had occurred. I found that January 6th was the most falsified by the republican party. In fact, I learned just today that an entire rewrite of that day has been made and posted on government sites... I didn't bother trying to find... You really don't have time, these days, to chase down rewriting of history by a group who is obviously trying to cover up things that they know are and were illegal acts against the country's citizens... 

I found I enjoyed The Last Word because the commentator was old enough and had a professional history to support his opinions about what was going on and--most importantly--was not afraid to speak truth. MSNOW was separated from MSNBC recently. It appears that the major stations are giving in to this administration's pressures... How Can We Know that this corruptive overtake of not only our government but that it is getting worse, honing in on this hemisphere as if the United States has a right to invade wherever and whoever is profitable for the U.S. billionaires who care nothing about the Americas except how they can be exploited to allow the them to become even richer--and with more power...

The thing is, the United States can, in my opinion, no longer be considered a democracy... And, there is no longer any legal methodology by which the republican party can be stopped, except through actions by the people, for the people... But...

HOW CAN WE KNOW WHETHER THERE IS A WAY BACK FROM THE DESTRUCTION ALREADY FINISHED... Just like the destruction of the White House without authorization, without concern for historical preservation, without congressional authorization... when one man, controlled as a puppet by those better qualified to understand the complexities of government, just how can we move to reclaim the United States of America?

You know, folks, I'm not a fan of comedy. I laugh when something rings "true" and it's appropriate! I've never understood making fun of anybody else... To me, that's shameful...

But you know what? This crap has become offensive to the whole world, including those allies that have come together for many years... Not only are Republicans turning against our allies, they are turning against the Constitutional requirements for a multi-layered government by which oversight is a mandate... And it's been achieved because republicans lie to our citizens... Like the lady above, who apologized for once believing MAGA lies and participating in the January 6th insurrection against our government, attempting to override the election of a new president, we have found that those who choose to support their own desires, their own greed, that our citizens have been faced with the worst year of our lives... Now even the comedians are pinpointed for destruction... So, I thought I would end this by pointing out that one top comedian, along with his sarcasm and satire, also includes TRUTH... And when millions of citizens know this and understand that the only reason it is funny is that because our president failed in getting him fired, then surely we must know that, somehow, Truth and Right will overpower the corruption that has occurred because one old lady who felt she could believe the republican candidate, and did the right thing in acknowledging that she was guilty on January 6 and refused Trump's pardon, is what we must all do. It will not be easy. Too many people have listened to republicans--they believed that if you are a christian, then you should vote republican... Don't ask me why because I don't know why I was told this! But I know one thing. God gave us a mind--a brain. He gave us free will. He has provided continued improvements in communication... Yet many ignored the Death of Christ to save our world...

How Can We Know That? 

Look around... Where is the Truth of God? Where is the Love of God? When individual religious leaders have split off against what is happening, then we know that there are many who have opened their eyes and seen the destruction... And, I hope, remember that, among the lies that began in 2015 was that God had chosen Donald J. Trump...

A Personal Look At January 6th, 2021, The Insurrection - Featuring John 8:31-32 English Standard Version and Catherine Marshall's, Something More

 

Today, January 6th... As I woke this morning, the Holy Spirit had presented me the words of the song, David Danced...and so I lay there singing the words over and over... Even when I got up, the words would not leave me...I knew the Spirit of the Lord was guiding me on this important day which has affected me and so many individuals across the nation and, indeed, the world.

This morning, President Biden spoke to our nation, condemning past president  Donald Trump and his followers... Those who acted to attack our Capitol exactly one year ago. President Biden referred to the words of the Bible: 

The Truth Will Set You Free

31 So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Many have thought that President Biden should have spoken out before today. I don't. Many have had the opportunity to see and hear more about the insurrection. The impact of President Biden's words, therefore, today were exactly what and when they needed to be said! Indeed, more lies from more people are being made. Not only Trump, but nearly all republicans are lying, trying to delete the memory of the Insurrection!

What is truth? Sometimes it is hard to know. When somebody has repeated a lie over and over and over, often it becomes the truth by some listeners--in particular, many now in the republican party, unfortunately.

What has concerned me most about these lies is that they are being accepted by republicans who are supposedly Christian--Evangelical Christians. Recently in a discussion with a friend, I was lamenting the unfortunate division created by Trump followers as incited by him. Now, it seems the word Christian is tainted as...one who lies and turns violent to support their religion as evolved through political party.

In that discussion, I admitted to resenting that I have had to defend myself and my opinions politically...as being a sign that I was not really a Christian since I was against Trump. That is, specifically, if you are a Christian, then you must, apparently, be a republican!!! Further, that I considered myself an Evangelical Christian! Well, I got up this morning and thought about this article and just for my personal benefit, I looked for a definition of "evangelical christian..." You guessed it, there are many different opinions and variations. When I claimed my membership as an Evangelical Christian, it was based upon my recognition of the "full gospel" that Jesus offered to me, both when I was baptized by walter as was done by John the Baptist,  and when I was again baptized with The Holy Spirit. To me, accepting the gospel of the Bible is to believe that the gifts of the spirit was given today. Some of you will recall that Jesus spoke when He was near death, that he would leave but He would send the Holy Spirit to us so that we would continue to know His presence. 

The republicans have tried to say that it was ANTIFA, not even realizing that ANTIFA is a rallying cry not a body of people...

They had the noose ready for Mike Pence, who was supposed to do what was necessary to ensure the count on January 6th overthrew the election of Biden. Trump had tried to get Pence's participation, but he couldn't.

There were many groups, such as Proud Boys, QAnon, KKK, White Supremacists, that were there... You may remember that in Virginia earlier, a group of white men walked down the streets carrying torches, crying "Jews Will Not Replace Us..."

Trump later said that there were good people on both sides... Specifically, all of those there to speak "against" other Americans who were protesting saw, as later announced after Trump's comment, that the president supported...them!

It was very clear that the Insurrectionists were Trump republicans/followers.

Flags were brought other than the American Flag... The American flag? It was rolled up and used as a bludgeon against the Capitol police.

President Trump spoke immediately before the Insurrection. Stating clearly that they were to go to the Capitol--even saying that he would be there with them, although he chose to watch them on television safely...

Those republicans who see him as a person placed by God in His position, have evolved into a cult bowing down before a false prophet... One of the individuals speaking out, in a video, spoke about his father being a leading evangelical at the time of Billy Graham, told about how he had been asked to a meeting where Christian leaders met with Trump. Trump was told to move the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem...and to put selected Christians with strong beliefs on the Supreme Court...

Trump in turn could do anything he wanted with support...

Trump succeeded in doing both...

You may recall that recently, the State of Texas made new laws about abortion, not just against its availability, but setting citizen against citizens to tell who was involved in ANY WAY with providing abortions and getting a bounty!

The Supreme Court voted to allow it to move forward, wuth strong objections from those who voted against it, calling it a "travesty."

The Supreme Court is NOW a biased body, thanks to Trump and Evangelical Christians...

For the past year, I have been very concerned about what is happening in the Republican party. Many have changed... I can see it...Many of the millions who voted Joe Biden into Office had seen it.  I thought when Donald Trump was voted out, it would be the end of an era. Not so...in many ways, it has become worse. What has concerned me most was that "Evangelical Christians" had supported him. I had come to personally resent those who were willing to take the man Trump and all his faults as their president. Only through the Holy Spirit was I able to objectively discover what was going on... This included my embarrassment for having to speak against those who profess to be Christians, but I did see the Truth as Jesus told us would be known. Just how many republican christians are accepting the lies...the insurrection against our constitution and our democracy...

During my discussion with my friend, she asked me if I was willing to share about my Baptism of the Holy Spirit. I had rarely spoke of it... But I did then and I am now... It all began...

When I was invited by another friend to attend a meeting of the Full Gospel Business Men's Association many, many years ago. I went with my friend, since I was used to attending multiple types of religious group activities. It is nondenominational and allowed all interested people to participate. I understand it evolved out of the Pentecostal fellowship, who believe that the Gifts of the Spirit are available to all and in these times... I enjoyed the meeting and meeting other Christians...some of them spoke in tongue that night...

Jesus spoke out about praying in closets rather than out in public. I've always felt that was relevant to me personally, somewhat of an introvert... So, as many of you will now know about me... I read a book!

During the years when I was first working, I bought and read a lot of books related to Christianity. It was normal for me to buy books about a topic that was important or interesting to me... I don't remember whether I bought the book or somebody gave it to me...

I was used to reading before I was ready to sleep. So, Something More, was my choice that night...

Somewhere along the way, perhaps I was reading about the gifts of the spirit... In any event, I could feel something. My body was growing warm and soon my body was heated from toe to the top of my head...

And I began to speak in tongues...

What I was doing, during the time speaking words I did not actually understand, was...Loving. I was praying for everybody, people I knew, people I didn't know...God had given me the gift of love for all people, I realize, now, even as I write...

God is a God of Love. Read the words of Jesus... Love Thy Neighbor was One of the Ten Commandments...And never, since the word did not exist at that time, did He say Love Only Christians...

For most of my life, which is when I started to work on a large university campus, I've been involved with people from all nations--students and teachers from various countries... Then when I retired, I started to work in publishing books and then doing book reviews, exclusively... I've read books from many different authors and many different nationalities. Since I had spent much time earlier in reading Christian reference books, I also was willing to consider the words from those who were not Christian. One of my favorite belief systems is what I've learned from Manny Moreno, a Native American poet/writer/personal friend. I had also read many fiction books about how ancestors and animal token were part of their earlier beliefs... I found this not out of line with my particular learning as an early Christian convert.

God's Holy Spirit has taught me that I love all peoples... Sure, we may have personal interactions with others who becomes a problem for us...that is, me, since this is my personal experience. I have come to recognize that if I had been born anywhere else in the world, then I would early in my life, never, perhaps, heard that Jesus Loves Me. God tells us to go out into the world and speak of Jesus... He does not say go out and ban, be prejudice of, or hate and evoke violence against those who are different from us...who believe differently from us. Instead we are to reveal our knowledge of The Holy Trinity through our own lives... That is how I've tried to live my life...

The one result of being given the gift of tongues and baptism with the Holy Spirit, is a sure knowledge that God IS LOVE... He does not need us, no matter what religion we have come to believe in, to demand obedience to Christianity or any other religion. And, he definitely does not expect us to use violence to act "on behalf" of Christianity! 

When I was young and trying to understand about The Holy Trinity, I quickly recognized that God was the father I never had... That Jesus was My best friend! And the Holy Spirit was the wonderful realization that God lives within each of us... All we had to do was open our Heart to receive guidance, communication and soooo much love...  Even if we not yet loved us as He loves Us... UNBELIEVABLE!

Please allow yourself to listen to the Truth, right now... today... about His Wonderful Commandment to Love Thy Neighbor... Can we really be willing to have guns killing our children, just so we can do what "we" want as part of the free will? Can we really believe that non-white individuals are NOT also God's creation

My final thought as I think of what occurred on January 6th, 2021...

Surely The Spirit of the Lord's Love Was Not With those Insurrectionists that were there to override the people's choice for the new president of our great nation...
