Ongoing Poetry Contributor, Regis Auffray, Shares "Oxeye Maids" and "Don't Be Sorry, Lauri" - Take a Break! Enjoy!

Oxeye Maids

A splash of daisies
A gift from the Creator
And Mother Nature

In behind my home
On the side of the mountain
A bevy of oxeyes

They appeared one day
Seemingly out of nowhere
Now grace the landscape

Such pretty daisies
She loves me she loves me not
Swaying in the breeze

Don’t Be Sorry, Lauri...

Don’t be sorry, Lauri
Lauri, don’t you worry.

Read the message in the bottle,
I’m coming to you at full throttle.

Take the message from the pigeon,
On the stream, from the widgeon.

In the sky, behold the swallow,
In your sorrow, do not wallow.

I’m coming to you, Lauri;
Sailing in my dory.

I am sending you a dove,
As a symbol of my love.

The sea is a little wild,
A bit like an untrained child.

I can almost see our home,
Through the waves’ frothy sea foam.

Your candle shines a bright light,
In this dark and stormy night.

Never worry, Lauri;
We will live our story.

I will hold you in my arms,
Gladly succumb to your charms.

Thanks so much for sharing today, Regis... Hope you don't mind my adding two videos on a somewhat sad, but still quite interesting song about Lauri, and  subsequent video created for the old song...

I always enjoy your poetic, thoughtful words!

God Bless
Gabby
